How Long Does It Take for Your Body to Recover After Birth?

Hello dear expectant mothers,

   One of the most frequently asked questions during pregnancy and after birth is: “When will my body return to normal?” I completely understand why this question comes up. Of course, it’s natural to want your body to recover, tighten up, and return to its former shape quickly. But please, give yourself time and be patient in this process.

   First, remember that you are now a mother – and that is a truly magical journey. Your body has performed a miracle and brought a new life into the world. So be grateful to your body and treat it with care. Instead of relying on waist trainers, cutting out sugar completely, skipping meals, or doing excessive workouts, focus on healing with a healthy and balanced approach.

   Rather than rushing to get back to your pre-pregnancy body, embrace your current body and support it in healing in a healthy way. Take time to strengthen weakened muscles and stretch those that have shortened. Exercises that target the pelvic floor will significantly support your body’s recovery.

   Be kind to yourself and allow your body to go through this process. Making peace with your new body and loving it is very important. This body grew a new life within it – and that is a profound miracle. You should love it, embrace it, and thank it for this beautiful journey.
